In model years 1946, 1947 and 1948 Chrysler built 8,368 straight-eight, Town & Country convertibles. They were expensive at $3,395 — and an instant hit. The Town & Country, like other car designs of the period, reflected the prosperity and optimism of the post-war period with rich materials, roomy interiors, and a broad dash and windshield that seemed to connect seamlessly with the road ahead.
This model of the Town & Country features opening doors, hood and trunk, and genuine wood paneling. The push-button radio is here too, and it’s easy to imagine driving under sunny skies listening to Les Brown or Peggy Lee. Perfect for any highway or collector’s shelf.
